David Sawtell has commented on the government’s announcement of a £200m fund to remediate private high-rise buildings affected by unsafe ACM cladding for the University of Oxford’s ‘Housing after Grenfell’ blog. He welcomes the development but notes that issues with how such blocks are managed remain. He also notes that defects in residential construction development is a worldwide problem, commenting on research into the New Zealand ‘leak homes crisis’ and problems in the Irish construction sector.
