Terms of Business

The way in which barristers are instructed has changed several times in recent years. All chambers must publish terms upon which they agree to be instructed. These are our standard terms:

Lamb Chambers Standard Terms

These terms will apply to every new case sent to Lamb Chambers by a solicitor unless :

  • a Conditional Fee Agreement is agreed
  • the client is Publicly Funded
  • alternative or varied Terms have been agreed (in writing) with the solicitor

Personal injury work

Where a personal injury case is undertaken under Lamb Chambers’ standard PI CFA terms, the following terms shall apply to that agreement:

Prior to 1st October 2013 the following standard terms applied:

Public access work

Please note that where instructions are sent to barristers on a Public Access basis – not through a solicitor – then individual terms will be agreed between the client and barrister.

 

Legal Aid work

Lamb Chambers Legal Aid Terms

These terms will apply to every new Publicly Funded case sent to Lamb Chambers by a solicitor.
