Our Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Group deals with artistic copyright cases in areas such as fashion, architecture, photography and industrial design. We work regularly on matters involving literary and dramatic copyright relating to the music, television and film industries, including moral rights and performers’ rights, TV format rights and licensing, film production and distribution rights. Some cases address database right under the directive, copyright in databases, and copyright in computer software.
The group also undertakes non-contentious work for the commercialisation of copyright across all sectors, including advising and negotiating on specific deals, and drafting industry documents such as assignments, licences and other agreements relating to the exploitation of copyright and related rights in the UK and worldwide.
Clients include all sizes of commercial enterprise, charities and religious organisations, as well as many well-known musicians, actors, artists, dignitaries and other household names.
