Nicholas McNicholas

Nicholas McNicholas is Principal Supervisor at the European Central Bank. Appointed in 2015, he oversees issues relating to financial sector authorisations, board governance, policy and ‘fitness and propriety’.

He worked as a Barrister with Lamb Chambers between 1999 and 2005, during which he specialised in criminal, tort and property & commercial, and represented both private and corporate clients.

From 2005 to 2010 he practised as a Barrister in Ireland, specialising in judicial review, European law, tax law, probate and personal injury, before joining the Central Bank of Ireland’s Enforcement, Financial Services and Fit & Proper team.
