Nigel Waddington

Nigel is a faculty member at the Ceeli Institute in Prague. He has a particular interest in judicial ethics, anti-corruption initiatives and transparency, and provides training to judges in central and eastern Europe.

He practised as a barrister in London at 8 Stone Buildings before its merger with Lamb Chambers. He has worked with the American Bar Association in its promotion of the Rule of Law, training lawyers from Bosnia-Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Serbia. He has helped to develop internship programmes for law firms in Albania and Croatia.

As a UK-registered mediator Nigel has worked in northern Kosovo with members of the Chamber of Mediators exploring dispute resolution during rising ethnic conflict.

Nigel is a former associate professor and course designer for the Bar Standards Board’s Vocational Studies Programme. He trains Bar students at City Law School, University of London.

He provides consultancy services to the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and the Patent Examination Board on its litigation skills program and is a former external assessor for Norton Rose Fulbright LLP on its in-house advocacy program.

Nigel is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, IATC-accredited advocacy trainer and member of the Standing Conference of Mediation Advocates.
