Emmanuel Michelakakis-Howe

Emmanuel joins Lamb Chambers after a previous career in senior management roles in the shipping and cruise industries. He is developing a broad commercial and civil law practice.

Before training as a barrister, Emmanuel was the Director of Operations and General Counsel of an international cruise line and was elected to the Board of Directors of a leading Protection & Indemnity (Insurance) Club. He has first-hand experience of the commercial pressures facing clients and the importance of adopting a practical, solution-focused approach in his work.

He trained as a barrister with a leading commercial set where he worked on a broad range of commercial and shipping disputes. This included assisting with High Court trials and applications and with arbitrations under the LMAA and LCIA rules.

Emmanuel is a graduate of the University of St Andrews and the University of London. He has received various academic and advocacy awards and was called to the Bar as an HR Light Scholar of the Middle Temple in 2022.
