Michael joins Chambers in January 2025 on a probationary tenancy having received a complete pupillage dispensation from the BSB in recognition of his substantial legal experience and court advocacy. He specialises in property, housing and bankruptcy law as well as general civil litigation.
Michael obtained a first-class in his Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree and since completing his Bar Vocational Studies Michael enjoyed a busy practice as an advocate, appearing in over 1,900 hearings in the County Court, First Tier Property Tribunal and High Court in a variety of matters including bankruptcy proceedings, mortgage and LPA possession hearings and landlord and tenant cases. Michael has also represented clients in over two hundred small claims hearings dealing with issues such as commercial contract disputes, construction disputes, undisclosed commission claims, parking disputes, flight delay claims, tenant deposit claims, road traffic accidents, OIC liability and quantum hearings and debt disputes.
Michael undertook his Bar Vocational Studies as a Lord Denning Scholar of Lincoln’s Inn. He is published in the Oxford Journal of Law and Religion and his mooting successes include being a winner of the UKELA Dame Frances Patterson Moot Competition (2018) and selecting and coaching the winning team in the EuARe International ECtHR Moot Competition (2018).
Michael is also an accredited Civil and commercial Mediator, Associate Arbitrator and Digital Dispute Resolution Specialist.
Prior to being called to the bar in 2020 Michael worked as a Broker and Head of Emerging Markets at financial intermediaries within the international money markets where he facilitated interest rate swaps (IRS’s), forward foreign exchange (FX) and listed FX options between international banks and investment houses.
