Ben has a particular focus on property and commercial law. Having worked as a solicitor's agent for several years prior to commencing pupillage, he has attended over 2500 hearings in the High Court, County Court, and Tribunal and is experienced across a wide range of civil litigation.
Ben advises and acts on appeals under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 and is regularly instructed to recover surveyors' fees in the Magistrates' Court. He also acts in residential and commercial landlord and tenant cases, actions for possession and forfeiture, service charge disputes and boundary disputes (including hearings in the First-Tier Tribunal).
Ben also accepts regular personal injury instructions, attending hearings such as fast-track trials, small claims, and disposal hearings (in and out of the Protocol). He also accepts instructions to advise on liability and quantum.
Before embarking on his legal career, Ben co-founded a high-profile start-up company in Switzerland, which won various awards and achieved seed funding from a venture capital investor. His experiences in the world of business help him to achieve commercially attractive outcomes for his clients. He has a keen interest in contract law and is regularly instructed by consumers and businesses in disputes involving consumer protection legislation and common law, including building disputes and compensation claims against airlines. He also acts for companies and individuals in the insolvency forum.
