Cheryl Reid

Cheryl specialises in property and commercial litigation. She regularly appears in the High court, County Courts and Tribunals all over the country. She accepts instructions to appear at full hearings and a full range of applications in both fast-track and multi-track matters. She accepts instructions to appear for both Claimant and Defendant. She accepts instructions to undertake drafting in all of her specialisms along with conferences and mediation.

Cheryl has extensively worked with some of the largest energy providers in the UK, and in the world and some of the largest banks in the UK, and in the world.

Cheryl accepts instructions on a Direct Access basis in appropriate matters.

Cheryl has acted in numerous employment cases before employment tribunals, the Employment Appeal Tribunal and in the High Court since commencing her practice, in fact her first ever trial was a four day whistleblowing claim (she was acting for the claimant and was successful).

Cheryl has a particular interest in matters involving discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal, stress at work, bullying and harassment.

Cheryl acts for both claimants and respondents and has previously acted for public bodies, schools, commercial businesses and trade unions.

Cheryl regularly acts in wide variety of property disputes involving; landlord and tenant, service charges/major works, rent arrears, forfeiture and possession, tenants at will, wrongful interference, unlawful eviction, adverse possession, conversion, boundary disputes, easements, rights of way, mortgages, co-ownership disputes, breach of covenants, nuisance and contentious business lease renewals.

She appears regularly in the FTT and acts for both landlords and tenants in commercial and residential matters.

Cheryl regularly acts in matters concerning all types of contractual and commercial disputes. She has also acted in numerous company matters including matters concerning; winding up, shareholder disputes, director’s duties, share purchase agreements, off-shore companies and capital gains tax. She also has experience in matters where parties dispute jurisdiction. She has also acted for parties involved in applications for freezing injunctions.

Cheryl has acted for debtors, creditors and trustees in a variety of bankruptcy matters including: applications to set aside statutory demands, applications for bankruptcy orders, applications to annul bankruptcy orders, s.303 applications, applications for sale of land and s.363 applications.
