LAMB LIMELIGHT: Blessing Mukosha Park

Welcome to the next edition of Lamb Limelight.

On this weeks edition, we are spotlighting one of our junior barristers, Blessing Mukosha Park.

Tell us a little about yourself and your practice.

“I am a barrister at the Chancery and Property Bar with a particular focus on landlord and tenant law, both residential and commercial. I also work on contentious chancery and property disputes involving trusts and estates. Alongside my practice, I run BLESSING AT THE BAR (BATB), a platform I founded in 2017 to support aspiring and junior barristers with resources, digital products, and community.”

What is your first memory of wanting to be a barrister?

“I was a theatre kid who loved drama, acting, and public speaking, but I was also very bookish and enjoyed academics. Becoming a barrister felt like the perfect combination of those two sides of me – bringing together performance and intellect through advocacy.”

Is there a certain case that stands out to you in your career? If yes, why?

“I am still very early on in my career, but one of the most memorable so far was the first pro bono case I worked on as a qualified barrister. The case involved a co-ownership dispute between two former partners, and my client was a vulnerable survivor of domestic violence. I had always been interested in co-ownership disputes since Law School, but this case really drove home how personal and emotional disputes over property can be, especially after a relationship breakdown. It confirmed for me why I chose this area of law and the responsibility of standing up in court for your client, often in high-stakes moments, is both humbling and motivating.”

What’s your favourite thing about being a barrister?

“The variety. No two days are ever the same. One day you may be in court making submissions, the next you are advising on complex legal issues. I also value the independence of practice and the opportunity to grow and shape my career in my own way.”

What do you do to relax?

“I enjoy music, fashion, and writing. I also founded a music media platform in 2020 which keeps me connected to culture and creativity. Outside of work, I love to travel and spend time with my husband, family, and friends.”

If you weren’t a barrister, what would you be?

“I would likely be a creative director or work full time in music and media. I have always been passionate about storytelling, whether through law, content, or art, so I would still be creating spaces where stories can be told and shared.”
