A plea for defaults to be set on remote/in-person hearings in county courts’ Oscar argues that county courts need some defaults to be set for in person/remote hearings. Some hearings, we have learnt from lockdown, can clearly be done well remotely. Others are best in person. However the lack of guidance from the senior judiciary means that what is left is a piecemeal approach that benefits no one.
